MyFixRate collects customer’s personal information to better serve your needs including: to establish and manage business relationship with you, to recommend products or services to you from MyFixRate and partner companies, to understand you energy needs, to supply the customer with the product or service.
Customers providing MyFixRate with personal information consent to and have knowledge of how MyFixRate is collecting, using, and disclosing their personal information, except where otherwise required or authorized by law. When you are using our products and services we consider that you have implied your consent for us to collect, use and disclose your personal information for the purposes identified above. Your consent may be implied or expressed and may be given to us electronically, in writing or verbally.
The amount and type of the personal information collected by MyFixRate from its customers and potential customers is strictly in relation to fulfilling the requirements of the energy contract, between the customer and MyFixRate and its partner companies, and to maintain the accuracy of our business records.
Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention
The main purpose for the disclosure of customer information is for energy commodity supply as specified on MyFixRate or its partners contract and if requested by regulatory or legal organizations. MyFixRate and/ or its partners contract outlines the terms for the disclosure of information. Information is retained for the duration of the contract period, as well as for a period of up to 7 years after the termination of the customer’s contract and any renewals thereof. In addition, MyFixRate and its partners may use the customer’s “User Cookie” for MyFixRate and its partners remarketing campaigns through the Google Display Network. This information will remain private and confidential.
In order to carry-out the terms of the contract between the customer, MyFixRate and its partners, we endeavor to keep customer information accurate, complete and up-to-date.
MyFixRate protects personal information against loss or theft, as wells as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modifications. This is accomplished through the use of technology and Company practices and procedures.
Electronic customer information is stored on MyFixRate and its partners servers located in Canada. Servers are kept in a physically-secure area; access to this room is restricted to authorized IT personnel only. MyFixRate and its partners has taken steps to ensure all servers are well protected and placed its systems behind secure firewalls designed to keep information safe and inaccessible. All data are backed up and stored securely at an offsite location. Access to customer information is limited to employees who have a business reason to see it.
Each employee has a unique login and password to access the customer database. The type and level of data accessed by employees is pre-determined by the IT Department and Manager of the employee. The system prompts the user to change their password periodically.
